This is a type of wool fabric that was produced in Norwich, Uk in the 18thcentury, called Calemanco (Kalmink in swedish). It was produced mainly for home textiles but it spread to Norway and Sweden and people went crazy for these colorful fabrics. It became very popular to use in bodices and waistcoats.
This is a new produced replica, but without the calendering/glazing that they had originally, as this method has been forgotten, but its still a shiny wool type.

Den producerades främst till inredningstextilier men den spreds till Norge och Sverige där folket blev helt galna i detta färgglada tyg. Tyget blev väldigt populärt att användas till livstycken och västar.
Det här tyger är en nyproducerad replika, utan den ursprungliga kalenderingen/glansen som orginalen har då denna metod är bortglömd, men tyget har ändå en fin glans från ullen.
